who are we?
The Freundeskreis des Jugendsinfonieorchesters Bremen – Mitte e. V. was founded in 1991 to financially support the cost-intensive projects of the Youth Symphony Orchestra (JSO) and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Music School Bremen. We are a non-profit association and currently have around 80 members, mostly from the parents of active and former members of the orchestra. Our driving force is the joy of the great music of the JSO and its construction orchestra.
what do we do?
The Freundeskreis supports the JSO on various levels. We solicit donations, interest sponsors in the work of the JSO and support the JSO both organizationally and financially in its musical endeavors. In particular, the annual concert tour and the project of the International Youth Symphony Orchestra Bremen (IYSO) involve considerable costs and could not be carried out without additional financial support. The Freundeskreis also helps with the financing of new musical instruments and corresponding accessories. The members of the Freundeskreis meet for the annual general meeting at the Music School and, if required, to organise assistance with JSO projects (sale of torches at the Hollerseekonzert, accommodation for foreign musicians as part of the IYSO project, etc. ).
