In terms of age structure, the Jugendsinfonietta Bremen-Mitte is the medium-sized orchestra offered by the Bremen Music School.
Young people between the ages of 11 and 15 make music here; it thus forms the preliminary stage to the Bremen Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Many current members of the Youth Symphony Orchestra have played in the Sinfonietta themselves and learned the most important basics of ensemble playing there.
In the Sinfonietta, as in the JSO, musicians of all classical orchestral instruments from Bremen and the surrounding area play.
In order to play in the Sinfonietta, you do a small audition in which you can show your skills.
Strings should have mastered all basic fingerings and be familiar with the position play. To participate with wind instruments, a solid intonation and confidence in the tone as well as the mastery of the middle range of the respective instrument are prerequisites. In order to enable as many young musicians as possible to participate, the voices are also adapted to the respective level of performance in case of doubt.
The Sinfonietta often plays arrangements of larger works, moderately difficult original works and solo concerts with soloists from its own ranks, adapted to the level of performance of its members. In recent years the Sinfonietta has also participated in various cooperation projects, including the “ Bremen Magic Flutes ” with the Bremen Children's and Youth Choir and the “Kinderwald-Lieder” project of the Oldenburg Children's Music Festival with Unmada and a band as well as children from the Ellernerbrokweg elementary school in Bremen . Over the years, a number of traditional concerts have been created in which the Sinfonietta appears. At the beginning of the year there is a concert in the Free Waldorf School Bremen Touler Straße, together with the youth symphony orchestra. In early summer there is an open air concert in the inner courtyard of the Links der Weser Clinic and shortly before the summer holidays, the Sinfonietta plays at the big final concert in the bell. The joint concerts with the JSO are a particular incentive for the young musicians, as they have the next goal in mind - participation in the JSO - in front of their eyes and ears.
The Jugendsinfonietta-Bremen-Mitte meets every Thursday between 4.30 p.m. and 6 p.m., depending on the rehearsal schedule, in the Free Waldorf School in Touler Straße or in the music school in Walle.
In the Jugendsinfonietta Bremen-Mitte, children and young people can make their first experiences in orchestral playing with all orchestral instruments. Medium-difficulty orchestral works are developed here and presented in concerts. With appropriate
